MSDC have listed The Royal Oak as an ‘Asset Of Community Value’ (ACV).  This means that if The Royal Oak is offered for sale again, the community is allowed time to make an offer to purchase it.

However, there are some loopholes which an unscrupulous developer could exploit and there is no onligation on the developer to accept a community bid.


AMK Property (Southampton) Limited, have purchased The Royal Oak from Southern Brewery Limited, for £710k.  The purchase is financed with a bridging loan for £750k, at a cost of £11,250 per calendar month.
