Pledge Document

MSDC have been informed by the owner of The Royal Oak that they now wish to sell it.

On behalf of the community, the Save the Pub Team now have 6 weeks to respond to MSDC that we wish to make a bid for the pub.

We do not need to have the funds in place or a business plan until 6 months time, at which point if we have the funds available, we can make a formal bid to the seller.

The notice to sell was received on 20th March which now gives us until 20th September to find the funds.

If you wish to pledge, please do so now via the website.

Pledges are made in confidence.

Members of the team today met with the owner of the Royal Oak with a view to opening a line of communication. Our ultimate goal is to reach a conclusion that is acceptable to both parties, preliminary discussions went well and we have agreed to continue further dialogue.

Further updates to come.

At their Planning & Highways meeting today, Worth Parish Council strongly objected to the planning application for ‘External alterations in connection with proposed single storey extension to public house. To include installation of plant equipment comprising A/C condenser unit and associated timber screening with protective railings’.

Their full comments will be passed to MSDC, who will make the final planning decision.

Before the 13th March, you can submit your comments to MSDC at:
